How do I inspect my inkjet cartridges?
Please click here to follow our visual inkjet cartridge inspection guide.
What kinds of cartridges do you buy?
We purchase inkjet and laser/toner cartridges for most printers, copiers and fax machines. We buy “virgin” laser/toner cartridges (those that have not been previously refilled), and both “virgin” and “non-virgin” inkjet cartridges. Please view our on line Cartridge List for all the models we accept, and the prices we pay.
How can I tell if a cartridge is virgin or non-virgin?
Check the cartridge label. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) like HP, Canon, Brother and Lexmark will have their label on the cartridge. Look for signs that the cartridge has been refilled: small drill holes, caps attached with tape.
How can eCycle Group pay so much for empty cartridges?
By encouraging our collectors to become partners in the recycling process, eCycle Group has lowered operating costs, and passed that savings on to you. By reusing old boxes you have on hand to ship, by sending us only virgin cartridges found on our Pricelist, and by packing those cartridges properly, our collectors have increased the amount they earn.
Does eCycle Group pay for shipping?
Yes, we pay all shipping costs, as long as you send us at least 10 cell phones, 20 inkjets, or 10 toners are virgin, undamaged and appear on our current Pricelist. Non-virgin inkjet cartridges or Epson cartridges DO NOT count towards your minimum shipment requirements. They must accompany an accepted number of virgin models.
What happens if I do not meet the minimums?
You may send less than the minimums stated above, however, we will have to deduct shipping costs from your total. Anyone with fewer than our minimums are encouraged to donate their cartridges to a local school or church group fundraiser.
Where do I ship my cartridges and cell phones?
Inkjet cartridges and cell phones are to be shipped to our Ojai, CA collection center. Laser cartridges are to be shipped to our Camarillo, CA center. We will supply you with different shipping labels for both centers. If a shipment is sent to the wrong center, we will have to deduct the cost of reshipping to the correct center.
How do I ship my cartridges and cell phones?
That depends on the size of your shipment. The majority of our collectors use our prepaid shipping labels which they simply apply to their sealed boxes, then call the FedEx to schedule a pick up. We also include an information sheet to identify damaged and non-virgin cartridges, as well as packing instructions to help insure that your cartridges reach us safely.
These documents can be found in printable form at the top of our online Price List. For our larger collectors with loading docks, cartridge boxes should be packed on pallets and shrink-wrapped. Call us at (800) 416-5251 and we will coordinate a freight pick-up.
What are the maximum shipping dimensions for each package?
Packages of printer cartridges and cell phones shipped to eCycle Group which are 150 lbs. or 119 inches in length or 165 inches in length and girth are considered 'oversized' and will be assessed an additional charge of $45.
What happens if cartridges and phones are damaged during shipping?
If the damage is the fault of our shipping company, eCycle Group will file a freight claim and absorb the loss. If the cartridges are found to be improperly packed, we will not assume responsibility.
When and how will we be paid?
Payments by check are cut on the 2nd and 16th of each month. Any shipments received between the 1st and 15th of the month will be paid for on the 2nd of the following month. Any shipments received between the 16th and the last day of the month will be paid for on the 16th of the following month.
Please check our online Price List periodically, as prices are updated on the 1st and 16th of each month. We will pay you the quoted price on the day your cartridges arrive in our collection facility.
If you prefer, we can pay you using PayPal, an online service which allows us to transfer funds directly into your personal PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account and want more information about this service, click on the button below to visit the PayPal website.
Do you guarantee payment for all cartridges we send?
eCycle Group will only pay for cartridges that are in good working order. All non-virgin, and damaged cartridges will not be counted towards your cash total. Shipments with failure rates above 20 percent may incur shipping charges. Please pack your cartridges and phones carefully.
